Local IT companies recognized nation-wide (News)

From Branham Group's ranking of the top 300 Canadian information technology companies to the local Knowledge Industry Recognition and Achievement Awards, the names of Fredericton-based companies are popping up everywhere.
Fredericton-based Accreon has graced both lists, winning two KIRA awards in 2009, one for export service and another for employment growth.
In May of 2008, the consulting and software development company that had at the time been open for four months was ranked 229th on the Branham Group's top 300 Canadian IT companies.
Xwave has also been recognized locally and nationally.
In 2009, the IT company that provides eHealth solutions, received a KIRA award for the development of a Breast Health Tracking System.
In 2008, it placed second for the second year in a row on Branham Group's Top 10 Healthcare Solutions Companies. The company also earned fourth place on the list of the 25 Top Canadian IT Professional Services Companies.
Recognition received by local IT companies hasn't been limited to the KIRA awards or the Branham Group.
Bluedrop Performance Learning was recognized nationally in 2010 by the Government of Canada.
In March, Senator Fabian Manning presented the IT company with a Canadian Innovation Leader Certificate to highlight its success as an innovative Canadian firm that has linked scientific research to commercialization, jobs and economic growth.
In 2009, the company also received a Canadian Project Excellence Award for a project developed for RBC Financial Group.
Acron, a company that designs and builds video games as learning tools, was recognized by the Canadian Defence Review as No. 33 on their list of Canada's Top 40 Defence and Public Safety Companies in 2009.
There are also awards that show Fredericton companies aren't just good at what they do, they're good to their employees.
For the second time, Ambir, an IT consulting firm, was ranked first on Progress Magazine's 2010 list of the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada.
SwiftRadius, also an IT consulting firm, placed third in 2010, second in 2009 and first in 2008.
